Gasoline fire

A 67 year-old man in Florida tried to kill himself by dousing himself with gasoline and setting fire on himself. The result was having his skin charred all over and not death. The pain must have been so bad that he even screamed for neighbors to call 911.

Burning the bedroom

A 41 year-old man in Massachusetts tried to kill himself by setting the bedroom on fire, along with his girlfriend and her son. Fortunately, the girlfriend managed to escape with her son. Unfortunately, the man survived with burns over 85 percent of his body, which will make the rest of his life rather painful. The host of criminal charges leveled against him won't help matters.

Attempted car stabbing

A 27 year-old man in Arizona attempted suicide by affixing a sword to the steering wheel to a car and ramming the car into a wall. Instead of the sword fatally skewering him, however, the airbags deployed and bent the sword out of shape. The man only ended up getting non-fatal injuries, and his car just ended up in a swimming pool.

Breaking legs

A 25 year-old man in California jumped off the Santa Ana Bridge in an apparent attempt to kill himself. Hitting water after dropping from a great height is not much different from hitting concrete, but the result was that the man only managed to break both of his legs.

A man in Chicago tried to kill himself by ramming his car into a wall. Instead, he ended up with a wrecked car, four years in prison, and the death of a friend.

A 14 year-old boy in China tried to kill himself by jumping out the window from the ninth-floor. However, a tree got in the way, so while he is now in a world of hurt, the encounter with the ground was not fatal.

Jumping off an overpass

A man in Texas tried to commit suicide by stabbing himself with a knife and then jumping off an overpass. However, all he accomplished was to hold up a whole lot of traffic on a highway, with himself soon taken to a nearby hospital.
